VICE PRESIDENT OF APG PROGRAMS
COL. Rodney A. Mentzer (USA-Ret) joined DHPC Technologies in September 2012. As VP of APG Programs, Mr. Mentzer is responsible for direct management of all programs and personnel assigned to Army programs at Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD. Rod is responsible for setting the corporate vision and establishing the strategy to provide valuable technical solutions across the tenant organizations located at APG.
Prior to joining DHPC Technologies, Mr. Mentzer enjoyed a lengthy career in the U.S. Army and retired in 2012.
Mr. Mentzer’s Acquisition Corps experience includes performing as Assistant. Program Manager for Blue Force Tracker (BFT), Executive Officer/Chief of Operations for PEO C3T. He then served for 3.5 years as the first Product Manager for the Army’s Joint Network Node. (JNN)/WIN-T Increment 1. Followed by board select Project Manager for Electronic Warfare (EW). Prior to his retirement, he last served as the Deputy PEO, for Intelligence, Electronic Warfare and Sensors (IEW&S).
Mr. Mentzer is a graduate of the United States Army War College in Carlisle, PA; the Command and Generals Staff College-Fort Leavenworth, KS; the Army Program Managers Course-Fort Belvoir VA; the Army Master Fitness Trainer Course at West Point, NY; and the Field Artillery Advanced and Basic Courses-Fort Sill, OK.
His civilian education includes a Bachelor of Science from the United States Military Academy at West Point (1988), and Masters Degrees from Indiana University (1995 Kinesiology), Webster’s University (2002 Procurement and Acquisition Management) and The US Army War College (2009 Strategic Studies).
His awards include The Legion of Merit (2 Oak Leaf Clusters), The Meritorious Service Medal (4 Oak Leaf Clusters), The Army Commendation Medal (4 Oak Leaf Clusters), Airborne Wings, the British Army Parachute Badge and combat tours with the 3rd ACR (Desert Shield/Storm) and the 82nd Airborne Division (Operation Enduring Freedom).
